We are a covenantal, confessional, reformed Presbyterian church in the Orlando area.
We adhere to the Westminster Confession of Faith, 1647. We are part of the Covenant Presbyterian Church denomination, and are an inter-generational congregation that seeks to preach Christ and Him crucified to and for His bride, the Church.
Ascension Presbyterian Church was formed as a church plant congregation of the CPC in early 2014, after planning and home bible studies in Seminole county throughout previous years. The church commenced Sunday services with Pastor Christopher Brenyo in early 2015, with a merger of the core group of Covenant Reformed Baptist Church attendees and APC members.
Since that time, we have experienced changes, blessings, hardships, and have seen the Lord's hand at work, growing and loving us. We continue to strive to please God in our love for His Church, His Word, and our neighbors.
Christopher G. Brenyo, Pastor
Christopher and his wife, Dana, grew up in Orlando and have 9 children ranging in age from 21 to 3. They enjoy spending time together talking, playing games, reading books, and often watching their boys compete in sports. Christopher received his pastoral training in Kansas City (2000-2002) where he also planted his first church. He holds a Master of Theology (M.Th) degree from the University of Wales, Lampeter (2008). Christopher pastored for many years in reformed baptist churches before becoming Presbyterian. He joined the work to help plant Ascension Presbyterian Church in 2015. He was ordained in the Covenant Presbyterian Church denomination in 2016. Christopher is striving to make Ascension a biblical church through Christ-exalting worship, disciple-making, edifying fellowship, and by a local and global witness.
Marion Lovett, Augmenting Elder
Marion is married to Chesley with whom he has eight children. He is a graduate of the University of Florida (BSEE) and worked in the corporate world for five years before the Lord called him to the ministry. After receiving an M.Div. degree from Bob Jones University, he moved to Atlanta to plant a church. After 10 years of ministry in Atlanta, the Lord called him to plant Heritage Presbyterian Church in Centerville, TN where he now ministers, and hopes to die — some day. Marion augments Ascension Presbyterian Church's session in the role of elder.
